Shopping The Stash #1

I want to start ‘shopping the stash’ for several reasons –

1. To save money – I often buy new products, so instead of going on a complete spending ban I thought I would use old products that I haven’t used in a while to feed my need to use different products all the time.

2. To rediscover old favourites – You often seem to forget about things that you once loved, so this will help me use the things. I find myself sticking to the same things all the time when I have so much makeup that I could use instead.

3. To have a clear out – I am quite literally running out of room for all my make-up. But I can never bring myself to have a proper clear-out. I’m thinking that this way, if by the end of the week I’m not enjoying the product, then it gives me incentive to get rid of it. Also, by doing this I am using more products up!

4. To experiment with new looks – If I’m using different products all the time, it will mean that I’m trying out different colours etc to what I normally use. It will allow me to try out some new looks that I may not usually go for.

So, on to my first week’s ‘Shopping the Stash’ post! :)

FACE

REVLON PHOTOREADY CREAM BLUSH IN PINCHED I love cream blushes, and I have only used this Revlon one a few times so I want to give it another try and get some use out of it this week.

TOPSHOP HIGHLIGHTER IN SUNBEAM When I first got this highlighter, I used it every single day. But once I discovered a few more highlighters (such as the Body Shop radiance) this got stuck at the bottom of my drawer. I want to rediscover why I loved this one!

EYES

NO7 EYE CRAYONS (limited edition from last summer) I went off these after using them a few times, I love the mint green and pewter shades but wasn’t struck on the formula. I couldn’t figure out whether to use them as eye shadow or eye liner? Or both?

SOAP & GLORY THICK & FAST MASCARA Another product I couldn’t decide if I liked or not – the formula is un-clumpy which I love, but the brush is quite big and unfortunately my lashes aren’t so I struggle with the brush a little.

MUA GLAMOUR DAYS PALETTE Probably my least used palette, only because of the range of colours in it. I tend to stick to neutral shades for everyday but I thought I would mix it up a bit this week with something I’m not used to.

LIPS

SOAP & GLORY SUPERCOLOUR FABULIPSTICK IN PERFECT DAY I absolutely adore the formula of these Soap & Glory lipsticks, but this is a shade I don’t wear often. I usually stick to pink-y tones but I’m loving darker shades and red tones at the minute, so I wanted to give this lipstick some love this week.

RIMMEL STAY GLOSSY LIPGLOSS IN ALWAYS LOVELY I don’t know if I have even used this lipgloss before? No more than once or twice that’s for sure! As a change from the darker lipstick, I thought I would include this sparkly pink lipgloss so I have a couple of options for my lips.

  3. I keep meaning to start doing these sorts of posts. I do tend to try and rotate my stuff anyway, as I'm easily bored, but of course there are a few staples that I just have to use every day.
Love the look of the Topshop highlighter and Revlon cream blush, both items I had my eye on a while back but never picked up.

  4. Love shopping the stash - re discovering products that have been forgotten about. The Topshop highlight is so nice. I have this & dont use it nearly enough. The S&G mascara is a product I wasn't thrilled with.

    1. Great!
I'm not loving the mascara too much either, sadly I've now thrown it away - it was nearly past it's use by date anyway.
